The kiwi is a native NZ bird. There are five different kinds of kiwi in NZ. They are brown short-winged, have black eyes and long legs. They are also little spotted kiwi that are pretty fast. But they can still get hunted down by dogs, cats, stoats, pigs and possums. Kiwi eat worms, bugs, little spiders, lady birds, cockroaches, grasshoppers and ants.

At the end of their long bill it is shaped like a spoon.

I think kiwis are the cutest looking birds and I really hope that the kiwi are not near their extinction but one day they might be.
