A Karearea is a fierce hunter and it is an endemic NZ bird. 

Karearea has sharp claws and very very good eyesight. They have black eyes and fluffy feathers with white dots. They have brown feathers too.

 Karearea live in dry open habitats like farmland.

They are found in the North Island.

Karearea find female Karearea and then mate for life and then breed. 

Karearea eat lizards, kereru, big insects and 3\4 grown hares. 

Karearea are very very fast. They can fly 100 km/h. 

The males weigh 350 grams and the female weighs 720 grams.

I like the karearea because it is a fierce hunter.
